6th:  STUDY SPELLING WORDS-- TEST FRIDAY!  BOOK TALK: DUE OCTOBER 15

7th: FINAL EDITORIALS DUE FRIDAY!  BOOK TALK/PROJECT: DUE OCTOBER 18

8th:  VOCABULARY RE-TEST AND CREATIVE WRITING DUE FRIDAY! BOOK TALK/REPORT/PROJECT: DUE OCTOBER 20.

English 6-8

Remember that Tuesdays and Thursdays are SSR days  (that's sustained silent reading days). Please bring an outside reading book to class.

6th grade: Read chapter 4 of Boy of the Painted Cave (Monday)

7th grade:  Read up to page 25 of Mango St. (Monday)

8th grade:  LOF/ Finish chapters 2-3 by Tuesday.


Most people did a great job on their first creative writing piece on Friday! Keep it up! Remember, the more effort you put into your writing, the more you'll get out of it!

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP #1

For tomorrow's writing workshop I would like you to bring in a photograph of yourself. It can be be recent or taken when you were younger. The photo can also have other people in it. You can print out the photo if its something you don't want to risk losing.

Also, think about this question before you go to sleep tonight--what is an image?
