SEPTEMBER 21- 30

Here are the most recent updates for all English Classes!

6th:  Spelling tests will be given on Fridays
Creative Writing:  Assignment due (1 page of writing) on Fridays
Finish NTS by October 3rd.
Day to Day assignments vary and should be recorded in your planners.

7th:  Spelling tests will be given on Fridays.
Creative Writing: Assignment due (1.5 pages of writing) on Fridays.
Mango Street vignettes:  Due Oct. 13th (all)-- 1st vignette (draft) due next Wednesday 9/28)

Day to Day assignments vary and should be recorded in your planners.


8th:   Vocabulary tests will be given on Fridays.
Test on Nightjohn:  Thursday, Sept. 22.
Creative Writing: Assignment due (2 pages of writing) on Fridays.

SEPTEMBER 12-16

8th:  Annotate Chapters 3 &4 of Nightjohn (due Friday) Choose 3 annotation points per chapter. RR as assigned.

7th:  Mango:  Read through the end of Mango by Friday. Be ready for your first quiz on characters in the novel by Tuesday. RR as assigned.

6th:  Read through chapter six of Number The Stars by Friday.

CREATIVE WRITING: (DUE FRIDAY)  Free choice writing for all classes. See minimum lengths below:
6th: 1 full page.
7th: 1.5 pages
8th:  2 pages

Silent Reading is on Tues and Thurs. for grades 6 and 7. Bring a book!

Grades 6-8:  You should always have both English notebooks with you in class-- your Reading Response notebook and your composition book (for creative writing!)
